The federal government awarded the Canadian company as part of a larger initiative. The government has invested USD 12 million in six manufacturers: BSB Manufacturing Ltd., Clover Tool Manufacturing Ltd., CMP Automation Inc., Electrovaya Inc., and Marwood International Inc., in addition to Can Art Extrusion.

“Southern Ontario has a rapidly growing EV sector and is home to many leading manufacturers across the EV supply chain that are using their expertise and talent to drive our EV sector forward,” said Filomena Tassi, the minister responsible for the federal economic development agency for southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), during a media event in Burlington.

Oakville North-Burlington MP Pam Damoff anointed southern Ontario as a hub for auto-manufacturing and innovation.

“The government of Canada has committed to supporting our manufacturers as they adopt green processes and technologies, increase their production capabilities, and create good jobs for Canadians,” Damoff said. “We know our people and businesses contribute to a stronger, cleaner, and greener economy.”

“The federal government is taking steps to help Canadians, businesses, and communities adapt to climate change while making life more affordable on the path to net zero,” said Pam Damoff, parliamentary secretary to the minister of Foreign Affairs. “Today’s announcement highlights not only the resilience of this region but also the strength of the manufacturing sector throughout southern Ontario.”

Can Art Aluminum Extrusion Canada Inc.'s (founded in 1998) lakeshore production facility designs and manufactures housing units and elements for EV batteries.
