LME aluminium opened at US$2,221.5 per tonne yesterday, with high and low at US$2,230 per tonne and US$2,198 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,200 per tonne, a drop of US$15.5 per tonne or 0.70 per cent.
On Monday, January 15, LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$21.5 per tonne or 0.98 per cent and US$22 per tonne or 0.11 per cent to settle at US$2,152.50 per tonne and US$2,153 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price also slumped by US$18.5 per tonne or 0.83 per cent to score at US$2,204 per tonne and US$2,205 per tonne. As per the LME data, December 25 bid price and December 25 offer price fell by US$18 per tonne or 0.72 per cent to clock at US$2,462 per tonne and US$2,467 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 558550 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants arrived at 356550 tonnes and 202000 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price contracted by US$23.19 per tonne or 1.03 per cent to reside at US$2,215.79 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on January 16, the SHFE aluminium price declined by US$26 per tonne or 0.97 per cent, arriving at US$2,631 per tonne. Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2403 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,825 per tonne, with high and low at RMB 18,910 per tonne and RMB 18,825 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,860 per tonne, down RMB 75 per tonne or 0.40 per cent.
