LME aluminium opened at US$2,132 per tonne on Thursday, with its high and low at US$2,186 per tonne and US$2,132 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,146 per tonne, an increase of US$3 per tonne or 0.14 per cent from the previous trading day.
{alcircleadd}On Thursday, August 17, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price surged by US$41.5 per tonne or 1.98 per cent and US$42 per tonne or 2.01 per cent to close at US$2,130 per tonne and US$2,131 per tonne.
The 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price gained US$29 per tonne or 1.35 per cent and US$27 per tonne or 1.25 per cent to close at US$2,171 per tonne and US$2,171.50 per tonne. December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price expanded by US$25 per tonne to score at US$2,337 per tonne and US$2,342 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 487100 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants settled at 275025 tonnes and 212075 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price moved up by US$1.91 per tonne or 0.08 per cent to halt at US$2,142 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, on August 18, the aluminium benchmark price at the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has inched up by US$1 per tonne to rest at US$2,528 per tonne. Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2309 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,555 per tonne, with the lowest and highest prices at RMB 18,470 per tonne and RMB 18,580 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,470 per tonne, down RMB 10 per tonne or 0.05 per cent from the previous trading day.
