LME aluminium opened at US$2,174 per tonne yesterday, with its high and low at US$2180 per tonne and US$2,152.5 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,155 per tonne, down by US$17.5 per tonne or 0.81 per cent.
{alcircleadd}The LME aluminium official price chart on January 22 showed decreasing rates, with the LME cash bid price halting at US$2,109.50 per tonne with a slump of US$11.50 per tonne or 0.54 per cent. The LME official settlement price stopped at US$2,110 per tonne, having registered a drop of US$12 per tonne or 0.56 per cent.
When the price on January 15, last Monday, is taken into account, we can observe a Week-on-Week decrease of US$43 per tonne or 2 per cent.
The LME 3-month bid price and LME 3-month offer price dwindled by US$11 per tonne or 0.51 per cent and US$10.50 per tonne or 0.48 per cent to settle at US$2,153 per tonne and US$2,154 per tonne.
The December 25 bid price and December 25 offer price negated US$17 per tonne or 0.7 per cent to clock at US$2,403 per tonne and US$2,408 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 550825 tonnes, with a loss of 4,400 tonnes. Live warrants and cancelled warrants stood at 338,450 tonnes and 212,375 tonnes, respectively. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price dived down by US$4.67 per tonne or 0.21 per cent to arrive at US$2,171.12 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price today
The SHFE aluminium price has halted at US$2,608 today, with a plunge of US$5 per tonne or 0.19 per cent. If we consider the SHFE aluminium price, last Tuesday, January 16, we can see a Week-on-Week de-escalation of US$23 per tonne or 0.87 per cent from US$2,631 per tonne recorded that day.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2403 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,655 per tonne, with high and low at RMB 18,680 per tonne and RMB 18,600 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,660 per tonne, down RMB 35 per tonne or 0.19 per cent.
SHFE 2307 aluminium added RMB 595 per tonne or 3.38 per cent to RMB 18,185 per tonne. The open interest fell 11,785 lots to 256,640 lots.
