LME aluminium opened at US$2,275.5 per tonne on Thursday, with its high and low at US$2,282 per tonne and US$2,202 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,213 per tonne, a drop of US$56.5 per tonne or 2.49 per cent.
On Thursday, May 11, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price plunged by US$47.5 per tonne or 2.08 per cent and US$47 per tonne or 2.06 per cent to halt at US$2,228 per tonne and US$2,229 per tonne.
3-month bid price and 3-month offer price dwindled by US$43.5 per tonne or 1.90 per cent and US$44 per tonne or 1.92 per cent to peg at US$2,236.50 per tonne and US$2,237 per tonne.
December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price contracted by US$40 per tonne or 1.62 per cent to score at US$2,415 per tonne and US$2,420 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 569975 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants scored at 372600 tonnes and 197375 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price nosedived by US$62.6 per tonne or 2.70 per cent to stop at US$2,248.90 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
On May 12, SHFE aluminium price has contracted by US$54 per tonne or 2.04 per cent to come in at US$2,583 per tonne.
SHFE 2306 aluminium closed down RMB 260 per tonne or 1.42 per cent at RMB 18,030 per tonne, with open interest growing 9,032 lots to 201,653 lots.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2306 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,000 per tonne, with the highest and lowest prices at RMB 18,030 per tonne and RMB 17,830 per tonne before closing at RMB 17,940 per tonne, down RMB 220 per tonne or 1.21 per cent.
