LME aluminium opened at US$2,204 per tonne on Wednesday, with its high and low at US$2,222 per tonne and US$2,193.5 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,197.5 per tonne, a decrease of US$6.5 per tonne or 0.3 per cent from the previous trading day.
{alcircleadd}On Wednesday, August 9, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price grew by US$10 per tonne or 0.46 per cent to settle at US$2,152 per tonne and US$2,153 per tonne.
LME aluminium 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price moved up by US$10 per tonne or 0.45 per cent to halt at US$2,204 per tonne and US$2,205 per tonne. December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price also scrolled up by US$2 per tonne or 0.08 per cent and US$12 per tonne to settle at US$2,365 per tonne and US$2,370 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock came in at 495000 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants stood at 277675 tonnes and 217325 tonnes. LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price decreased by US$2.12 per tonne to reside at US$2,218.77 per tonne, on the same day.
SHFE aluminium price
The aluminium benchmark price at the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has gained US$9 per tonne or 0.35 per cent to close at US$2,574 per tonne. Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2309 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,480 per tonne, with the lowest and highest prices at RMB 18,470 per tonne and RMB 18,530 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,480 per tonne, up RMB 45 per tonne or 0.24 per cent from the previous trading day.
