LME aluminium price gains US$28/t to close at US$2,410/t; SHFE price drops to US$2,751/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2,445 per tonne on Thursday and closed at US$2,422 per tonne, down US$23 per tonne or 1.12 per cent.

On Thursday, April 20, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price hiked by US$28 per tonne or 1.17 per cent to settle at US$2,409.50 per tonne and US$2,410 per tonne.

3-month bid price and 3-month offer price grew by US$29 per tonne or 1.20 per cent to score at US$2,430 per tonne and US$2,431 per tonne.

December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price gained US$22 per tonne or 0.85 per cent to reside at US$2,597 per tonne and US$2,602 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock came in at 572275 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants settled at 503525 tonnes and 68750 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price ascended by US$33 per tonne or 1.36 per cent to register at US$2,445 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Friday, April 21, the SHFE aluminium benchmark price dropped by US$18 per tonne to stand at US$2,751 per tonne.

SHFE 2306 aluminium gained RMB 195 per tonne or 1.03 per cent to RMB 19,205 per tonne. The open interest rose 48,634 lots to 290,758 lots.

Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2305 aluminium contract opened at RMB 19,125 per tonne and closed at RMB 18,905 per tonne, down RMB 195 per tonne or 1.02 per cent.
