LME aluminium price slips by US$29.5/t to US$2,230.50/t; SHFE price ascends to US$2,650/t

LME aluminium opened at $2,263 per tonne on Wednesday and closed at $2,241 per tonne.

On Wednesday, September 7, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$28 per tonne or 1.24 per cent and US$29.5 per tonne or 1.30 per cent to settle at US$2,230 per tonne and US$2,230.50 per tonne.

On the same day, 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price slumped by US$25 per tonne or 1.10 per cent to score at US$2,237 per tonne and US$2,238 per tonne.

December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price slipped by US$13 per tonne or 0.55 per cent to stop at US$2,312 per tonne and US$2,317 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock halted at 309500 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants closed at 229075 tonnes and 80425 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price descended by US$39.93 per tonne or 1.74 per cent to peg at US$2,252.29 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price 

On Thursday, September 8, the SHFE benchmark aluminium price hiked by US$18 per tonne or 0.68 per cent to record U$2,650 per tonne.

The most-traded SHFE 2210 aluminium closed down 0.54 per cent or RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 18,300 per tonne, with open interest down 914 lots to 161,562 lots.

The most-traded SHFE 2210 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,290 per tonne overnight and rose to RMB 18,370 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,300 per tonne, up RMB 10 per tonne or 0.05 per cent.
