LME aluminium opened at US$2,376 per tonne on Thursday, with its high and low at US$2,417 per tonne and US$2,372 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,411.5 per tonne, an increase of US$36.5 per tonne or 1.54 per cent.
On December 29, Thursday LME aluminium cash bid price jumped up by US$29 per tonne or 1.24 per cent, closing precisely at US$2,371 per tonne, and the LME aluminium official settlement price inched up by US$28.50 per tonne or 1.22 per cent halting at US$2,371.50 per tonne.
The 3-month bid price soared by US$22 per tonne or 0.92 per cent to halt at US$2,398 per tonne, and the 3-month offer price climbed up by US$21 per tonne or 0.88 per cent to rest at US$2,399 per tonne.
December 23 bid price and December 23 offer price both spiked by US$22 per tonne or 0.89 per cent to settle at US$2,480 per tonne and US$2,485 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock got cornered at 453,375 tonnes, with 8,350 tonnes or 1.81 per cent loss. Live warrants came to rest at 201,350, with a massive fall of 25,875 tonnes or 11.39 per cent, while cancelled warrants closed at 252,025 tonnes, gaining 17,525 tonnes or 7.47 per cent.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price slumped by US$29.08 per tonne or 1.2 per cent to clock at US$2,382.42 per tonne.
SHFE aluminium price
Today, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE has escalated by US$5 per tonne or 0.19 per cent to halt at US$2,692 per tonne.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium contract opened at RMB 18,685 per tonne, with the highest and lowest at RMB 18,695 per tonne and RMB 18,615 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,660 per tonne, down RMB 25 per tonne or 0.13 per cent.
The most-traded SHFE 2302 aluminium closed down 1.35 per cent or RMB 255 per tonne at RMB 18,685 per tonne, with open interest down 5,064 lots to 149,662 lots.
