LME aluminium opened at US$2,214 per tonne last Friday, with its low and high at US$2,203.5 per tonne and US$2,245 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,244 per tonne, an increase of US$31 per tonne or 1.4 per cent.
On May 12, Friday, the LME aluminium cash bid price stopped at US$2,230 per tonne, with a slight increase of US$2 per tonne or 0.09 per cent, and the LME aluminium official settlement price closed at US$2,230.50 per tonne, with US$1.50 per tonne or 0.07 per cent spike.
The 3-month bid price remained stagnant at US$2236.50 per tonne, and the 3-month offer price went up the graph by US$0.50 per tonne or 0.02 per cent, resting at US$2,237.50 per tonne.
December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price both have shown no alteration at all, staying strong with the prices of Thursday.
LME aluminium opening stock witnessed a rise of 325 tonnes or 0.06 per cent, officially closing at 570,300 tonnes, as it was on April 27.
Live warrants totalled 373,125 tonnes, recording a hike of 525 tonnes or 0.14 per cent. Cancelled warrants read 197,175 tonnes, with 200 tonnes or a 0.10 per cent slump.
The 3-month Asian Reference Price came in at US$2,205.86 per tonne after shedding US$43.04 per tonne or 1.91 per cent.
SHFE aluminium price
On May 15, today, SHFE aluminium price has gained US$10 per tonne or 0.39 per cent, officially closing at US$2,593 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2306 aluminium contract opened at RMB17,990 per tonne at last Friday’s night session, with its low and high at 17,970 per tonne and RMB 18,135 per tonne before closing at RMB 18,030 per tonne, up RMB 160 per tonne or 0.9 per cent.
SHFE 2306 aluminium lost RMB 290 per tonne or 1.60% to RMB 17,870 per tonne. The open interest dipped from 693 lots to 200,960 lots.
