The London Metal Exchange is considering licensing a warehouse in Hong Kong to enhance its services for clients in China, the world's largest metals market.
At the metal exchange's annual Asia seminar in Hong Kong on June 27, Bonnie Chan, the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. (which owns the LME), announced the commissioning of a comprehensive third-party study. This study will thoroughly assess the feasibility of establishing a warehouse in Hong Kong, ensuring that all potential factors are considered in the decision-making process.
