Fort Wayne, Indiana-based MetalX LLC has appointed Stan Gish as the new President and Chief Operating Officer of MMX Aluminium, the company’s forthcoming aluminium slab production facility in Defiance, Ohio.
MetalX highlights Gish’s extensive experience and leadership as crucial assets in its expansion into recycled-content aluminium production. “Gish is a highly respected figure in the aluminium industry, with a remarkable history of success,” the company states, emphasising the value he brings to their future growth.
According to the company, Gish began his career at Logan Aluminium in Kentucky. He later held positions at Alcan Aluminium and joined Tri-Arrows Aluminium, also in Kentucky, where he served as Vice President of Operations.
After his time at Tri-Arrows, Gish established a consulting practice specialising in industry project development and due diligence. This work eventually opened the door to a partnership with MetalX, where they developed the concept for an independent slab casting operation focused on producing high-recycled content slabs, aligning with future sustainability goals, according to MetalX.
As President and COO of MMX, Gish will oversee the design, engineering, construction, and operation of the slab production facility in Ohio. Additionally, according to the firm, as part of the MetalX corporate leadership team, Gish will play an integral role in shaping and executing key company initiatives across all business segments.
Danny Rifkin, CEO of MetalX, said, “Stan’s addition to our leadership team marks a significant milestone for MetalX as we continue to focus on growth in the aluminium sector.”
“Stan's experience, leadership, and vision align perfectly with our mission, and we are excited to see the positive impact he will have on our operations and future endeavours.”
Gish stated, “I am excited to join the MetalX team and to continue to build on the foundation and culture that Danny and Neal Rifkin and the MetalX team have developed.”
