Midland Pressure Diecasting (MPD) is a small die casting company in Ashmore Lake Way in West Midlands that offers aluminium and zinc high pressure die casting services. The company has been operating since 2000 across two of its sites with about 65 employees. With clients from the automotive, leisure and telecommunications sectors, the company offers a single source solution within the foundry sector. The Willenhall foundry is in a celebration mode after securing more than £1m of new orders in the last six months.
The company has announced that they will shortly start supplying complex components for the telecommunications sector.
“We are now reaping the benefits of our strategic decision to control as many of the processes under one roof as possible and this has created an outstanding facility capable of high pressure aluminium and zinc casting, toolmaking and precision machining,” said Ash Suman, founder director of MPD.
“There are not many organisations that can still offer these services in-house in the UK and this has paved the way for the three recent contracts wins, worth an estimated £1m,” he added.

MPD has customers spreading across various sectors including automotive, aerospace, hydraulic, gas, hardware and leisure. To expand its manufacturing operations in order to cope up with future demands, the company has recently invested on two acres of lands close to its premises in Ashmore Lake Way.
Diptesh Patel, technical manager at MPD said, “Having the on-site tool room and toolmaking expertise means we are just as competitive as low cost countries and, with us, there are never any logistics or quality challenges to face… Our flexibility is another selling point. We can cast complex parts in their millions, but are equally adept at producing niche products, such as traditional aluminium smoking pipes and taps for tap dancing shoes.”
