Midland Pressure Diecasting (MPD), a supplier of aluminium and zinc pressure die castings in the UK, plans to hire 11 people after the company won a number of new contracts. MPD will recruit four casters, four manufacturing operatives and three linishers as part of its expansion plans.
Managing director Ash Suman commented: "It’s great to be in a position to create new manufacturing jobs, especially when everyone is quoting uncertainty around Brexit.
"Our ability to take on complex parts, deliver quicker than our competitors and also offer quality tooling has been crucial to us winning a number of new contracts and this, in turn, has created the need for additional people in casting, linishing and general manufacturing.
The additional jobs will take the company’s total workforce up to 60 people.
"We are looking for experienced individuals that can hit the ground running, with full training programmes in place to help any new starters get used to our culture and to continue their development journey,” Ash Suman added.
"Giving our staff the chance to progress in the business is critical and we have recently seen someone promoted from shop floor operative to managing production and an apprentice becoming a production controller, both key operational roles and excellent career progression opportunities.
"Over £1m of orders are in the pipeline and the recent investment will ensure we have the capacity to complete in excess of £5m of sales by January 2020…our best ever year since we launched in 2000.
"This latest batch of jobs will not be the last this year. I can see us looking to recruit additional maintenance staff and experienced CNC setters/operators due to our expansion in machining."
