Sustainable and circular packaging is in high demand, thus, innovations that allow users to reuse old containers are getting more attention. Besides protecting its content extremely well, refill packaging must be user-friendly, simple to recycle and environmentally friendly.
{alcircleadd}With this aim, Tubex introduced the MonoRefill, a 100 per cent recycled and recyclable refill tube comprised of 100 per cent recycled aluminium (95% of which is PCR), is lightweight, and is readily recyclable. La bouche rouge was the first to use the MonoRefill, which is used for refills in its new perfume line.
“We designed the MonoRefill to provide brands with a sustainable solution for refilling complex original packaging, or as an alternative to existing refills made of plastics or other materials that are hard to recycle. Most of the refill solutions available on the market are not circular, and many are not even recyclable. We have seen a lot of interest for our solution in a variety of sectors, including beauty and personal care, and home care,” said Thierry Bitout, Group CEO at Tubex.
A new alloy explicitly developed for Tubex enables the firm to utilise previously discarded and recycled aluminium packaging. The tube is made in a single step using a single aluminium slug for the whole length of the tube. Because it is comprised of a single substance (no plastic cap), it is considerably simpler to recycle. The MonoRefill is designed to have a minimal environmental effect by lowering emissions, reducing trash, and keeping valuable packaging materials in the loop.
“The MonoRefill can be used to refill perfume bottles and different types of jars and small bottles. It can also carry concentrates to refill bigger bottles or dispensers. We believe many product categories can benefit from our solution,” added Bitout.
