WaveTech GmbH and Niche Fusina, Rolled Products S.r.l., have signed a partnership deal to assess the utility of the former's Crystal Control Technology (CCT) on their operational electric forklift trucks in order to decrease day-to-day cost and capital expenses. This step would nullify the carbon emissions coming out of the lead-acid battery-powered systems.
{alcircleadd}WaveTech is a counterpart of WaveTech Group, Inc., and Niche Fusina Rolled Products S.r.l. is a subsidiary of Dada Holdings. This agreement marks a new beginning for WaveTech because, with this particular move, the company has successfully entered the operational department within the power-intensive aluminium industry, where logistical issues are a great concern.
WaveTech wishes to embed its Crystal Control Technology (CCT) into electric forklift trucks to make the vehicles compatible with the voluminous aluminium industry. This partnership move has been orchestrated in a way that the upgraded forklifts can be of great use to aluminium facilities that heavily depend on machines for the greater part of their internal logistical operations.
The CEO of Fusina, Vincenzo Zinni, illustrated: "As part of our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations, we have entered into this MOU with WaveTech to optimise the usable life of the batteries in our forklift trucks. Upon a successful trial, we expect that Fusina can significantly reduce the carbon intensity by applying the novel and proven energy-saving solution developed by WaveTech. Fusina is committed to contributing to the green economy".
The CEO of WaveTech Group, Inc., Dag Valand, narrated: "We are pleased to partner with Fusina in this initiative which will show the positive impact our solution on battery consumption and energy storage for forklift trucks. Moreover, we thank Fusina for their trust and for allowing us to demonstrate the commercial application of our crystal control technology to forklifts powered by batteries; this opens a new client segment for WaveTech, in addition to the telecom towers, data centres and UPS infrastructure segments. There are roughly 10 million forklift trucks in operation globally, and about half of those are powered by electricity, representing a significant distribution potential for WaveTech's Crystal Control Technology".
The protocols under the MoU prioritise field trials providing inference on the CCT-treated lead acid batteries installed on Fusina's existing electric forklift trucks. These pre-emptive trails will occur at Fusina's Marghera plant in the Veneto region of Italy, one of the most industrialised zones in Europe. If the trials are successful, WaveTech will cross boundaries to impart CCT knowledge to some of the local aluminium industry suppliers and dealers.
