Nivea, a brand under Beiersdorf, recently unveiled its 2025 Sustainability Initiatives, which notably feature a strong emphasis on climate-conscious manufacturing, especially within its packaging goals. Among these updates is introducing a fresh tin design for the timeless Nivea Crème. What sets this new tin apart is its construction from recycled aluminium—a move that underlines Nivea's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
The use of aluminium
The packaging is made with up to 98 per cent recycled materials like aluminium, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. Additionally, these packages are completely recyclable and free of microplastic particles, aligning with Nivea's commitment to responsible skincare solutions. Starting last year, Nivea initiated reformulating and repackaging its products.
This year, consumers can anticipate witnessing these changes in the lip, shower, and cream/lotion categories. Nivea Men Body Washes introduces microplastic-free formulas packaged in recyclable, lighter materials like aluminium. Some scents will even feature a vegan formula, catering to a broader range of preferences.
Nivea Body Wash is transforming with formulations containing up to 91 per cent naturally derived ingredients and completely free of microplastic particles. Additionally, the packaging for these products is recyclable and made from 47 per cent recycled material, resulting in a 25 per cent reduction in plastic usage. This move reflects Nivea's commitment to sustainable practices in its body care range.
