The Odisha government approved 15 new industrial projects on Friday, amounting to a total investment of INR 3,353 crore and expected to create 4,637 jobs. The decision was made during a State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.

These projects span various sectors, including aluminium, chemicals or renewable energy, steel, manufacturing, textiles & apparel, tourism, pharmaceuticals and cement. The projects will be carried out in districts such as Koraput, Khurda, Baragarh, Puri, Cuttack, and Jharsuguda.
The downstream aluminium sector will also see significant development as HM Power and Cables Pvt. Ltd. will set up a manufacturing plant for aluminium conductors, power cables, and wires in Jharsuguda. This project, worth INR 55.72 crore, is projected to create 205 jobs.
Other projects
In the steel sector, Beekay Steel Industries Ltd. plans to expand its operations in Cuttack with INR 750 crore investment. The expansion will include facilities for sponge iron, billets, ferro alloys, sinter plants, and a captive power plant, expected to create 800 jobs.
In the chemical/renewable energy sector, Reliance Bio Energy Limited is set to establish a compressed bio-gas and organic manure plant in Puri, with an investment of INR 121.21 crore. According to officials, this project is anticipated to generate 69 jobs.
The food processing sector continues to draw substantial investment from projects from companies such as Bhuvaneshwari Foods and Beverages, Aban Beverages, and Geofast Consumer Products. These initiatives, located in Khurda, Baragarh, and Cuttack, will involve a total investment of INR 1,542.04 crore and are expected to generate over 1,358 jobs.
In the Textile & Apparel sector, Odisha Textile Manufacturing Private Limited is setting up a facility in Khurda to produce recycled yarns from textile waste. This project, with an investment of INR 51.80 crore, is anticipated to create 535 jobs.
