Orient's Mako Line now flaunts the inclusion of four new models, with an upgrade featuring sapphire crystal glass and Arabic Numeral Indices. These models are perfect for sports, outdoor activities, and casual wear.
The Orient Mako models all feature a bezel plate with six grooves that match the dial colour. On the aluminium plate of the bezel, two different colours are separated by the triangular and 15-minute markers: light blue and blue, light grey and grey, Bordeaux and brown, and beige and green.
{alcircleadd}Aluminum is a popular material choice for bezels in watches due to its vintage look and ability to develop a unique patina over time. Many of the most valuable and desirable watches in the world are mid-20th-century dive watches that use aluminium bezel inserts.
Since its launch in the 1960s, the Mako line has been an important part of Japanese watchmaker Orient's history, and this series has a dolphin icon engraved on the case back.
The new models with Arabic numerals at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock give a more casual feel than the traditional bar or dot indices, making it an ideal watch for everyday wear.
The dial colour is reminiscent of a beachside view, and the day-date window and Luminous Light hands and indices allow you to read the time even in the dark.
The new line-up has four models, with light blue and ivory dials evoking visions of beach views during the day, while Bordeaux and grey remind you of the beach at twilight. The 20-bar water-resistant case contains an automatic in-house calibre F6922, which can be hand bound.
