Leading access equipment supplier TB Davies is poised for substantial growth following a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Cardiff. Outfitted with fully automated machinery, the facility is designed for high-volume production of aluminium extension ladders and the assembly of combination steps for Little Giant Ladder Systems, for which TB Davies holds the exclusive UK license.

About the expansion
TB Davies' newly expanded facility now spans 3.5 acres and features 31,000 sq ft of office and warehouse space, with the capacity to add an additional 14,000 sq ft as demand increases. The expansion was fuelled by a strategic £500,000 investment and financial restructuring support from NatWest, bolstered by £100,000 in assistance and expertise from the Welsh Government's innovation team. This growth initiative has already created six new jobs, with more anticipated as production ramps up.

The upgrade reflects TB Davies' dedication to sustainability, incorporating measures to reduce its environmental impact. This includes sourcing materials locally, utilizing solar power, reducing plastic packaging, and adding hybrid vehicles to its fleet.

This well-established, family-run business produces and distributes comprehensive access solutions for working at height, such as steps, ladders, towers, and podiums, catering to professional, trade, and domestic users. The company counts well-known retailers like Screwfix, Toolstation, and Amazon among its customers. Operating from its Lewis Road site in the Splott area of the Welsh capital, TB Davies employs 27 people and achieved revenues of £7.8 million in 2023.
