Middle East aluminium industry is on a steady growth trajectory. Using an optimal combination of low cost energy, skilled manpower and technological innovations, the countries in the Gulf region have been expanding rapidly in the aluminium sector in ex-China world. Gulf countries are constantly working towards making a shift towards non-oil sector especially the aluminium industry. The region has attracted huge investments in their respective countries as part of the regional drive for industrial diversification leading to large scale expansions in the existing plants and construction of Greenfield projects. Thanks to the growing aluminium demand in the U.S., EU and Asia-Pacific and recent controversies on Russian and Chinese aluminium, the country is poised to become a leading supplier of global aluminium sector.
It's a known fact that GCC smelters are amongst the technically most advanced and environmentally clean smelters in the world. Both; the aluminium companies in middle east region as well as many overseas companies (technology/service providers); are working together to enable constant innovation & transformation in the sector.
The focus of our e-magazine will be to highlight how the diversification strategies, smart investment and implementation of new-age technologies are revolutionising the aluminium production and processing sector in the Middle East despite the scarcity of key materials like bauxite and alumina.
