Premier Energies, a prominent producer of solar modules and cells, has announced the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary, Premier Energies GWC Private Limited. As per the regulatory filing, this new subsidiary will focus on the manufacturing and processing of silicon ingots and wafers using advanced technologies for solar cell applications.
Aluminum contributes significantly to the manufacturing of silicon ingots and wafers, serving both as a dopant and in various bonding and coating applications. During ingot growth, aluminium can be introduced to modify the electrical characteristics of the silicon, tailoring it for specific semiconductor functions.
The newly formed subsidiary has been established with an authorised share capital of INR 1 million, comprising 100,000 equity shares valued at INR 10 each. According to the company, the primary objective of this unit is to manufacture and process high-quality silicon ingots and wafers using advanced technologies, thereby supporting its solar cell production operations.
“Premier Energies Limited is the promoter of Premier Energies GWC Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary and a related party. Upon allotment of shares by Premier Energies GWC Private Limited, the company will hold 100% of the share capital,” said the company.
As part of its broader backward integration strategy, Premier Energies previously established Premier-Green Aluminium Private Limited (PGAPL) as a subsidiary to manufacture, process, and extrude aluminium and its alloys for captive use. PGAPL was also incorporated with an authorised share capital of INR 1 million. The company stated that this initiative aligns with its goal to develop in-house aluminium frame manufacturing capabilities, reduce reliance on imports, and boost self-sufficiency, thereby strengthening its domestic supply chain for wafers and ingots.
Premier Energies is steadily advancing its technological capabilities, having recently formed a technology partnership with Germany’s RENA Technologies GmbH to drive process innovation for N-Type solar cells and develop wet chemistry solutions for tandem solar cell technologies.
This collaboration leverages Premier Energies’ large-scale manufacturing strength and RENA’s expertise in wet chemistry and equipment solutions. The joint effort aims to enhance high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing by improving cell performance, increasing production throughput, and promoting more sustainable manufacturing practices.
