Primary aluminium production in Africa in October 2021 stood at 137,000 tonnes, flaunting a month-on-month increase of 5,000 tonnes or 3.79 per cent, found the International Aluminium Institute data. In September 2021, primary aluminium output in Africa was at 132,000 tonnes, down by 4,000 tonnes or 2.94 per cent from 136,000 tonnes in August.
As per the IAI data, Africa’s primary aluminium production in October 2021 stood only 1,000 tonnes or 0.74 per cent higher than 136,000 tonnes a year ago.
Africa’s total primary aluminium production in the first ten months of 2021 (January-October) amounted to 1.321 million tonnes, which, however, reflected a downfall of 1.49 per cent from 1.341 million tonnes during the same period last year.
Global primary aluminium production in October stood at 5.689 million tonnes, 3.80 per cent higher than 5,481 million tonnes a month ago. On a year-on-year basis, the output recorded an increase of 1.28 per cent from 5.617 million tonnes.
World’s total primary aluminium production from January to October 2021 amounted to 56.295 million tonnes, up by 4.02 per cent from 54.121 million tonnes during the same period last year.
