Recycling aluminium is one of the most fundamental options for reducing carbon emissions as primary aluminium production is energy intensive and complicated. Rising concerns about Global Warming have insisted entities adopt more sustainable methods. Still, last week there was a daring revelation as we saw Brazil has successfully recycled 100 per cent of the 390,200 tonnes of aluminium cans sold last year in the country, which kicks up the notch a bit. Under a joint venture between Enval, Greenback Recycling Technologies Ltd., and Nestlé México SA de CV, Mexico received its first fully operational recycling plant for separating aluminium from plastic laminates. TOMRA released its latest LIBS technology equipped AUTOSORT™ PULSE sorting machine for separately recycling aluminium alloys.
{alcircleadd}Brazil has set a new record by recycling 100 per cent of the 390,200 tonnes of aluminium cans sold last year, the highest rate reported since the measurements began in 1990. This outcome strengthens aluminium's position as a more favourable alternative for sustainability and the circular economy.
