AniMeals No-kill Adoption Center and Animal Food Bank based in Missoula is known for providing shelter and other necessary help to animals. The organisation has passed its long-running aluminium recycling programme to Recycling Works.
AniMeals has been collecting aluminium cans for the past 14 years to support shelter operations. The recycling programme has grown beyond what the shelter can handle, and the costs associated with running it needed to generate more income to make it worthwhile to continue.
"We want to re-focus and stay mission relevant with our program efforts as a no-kill adoption on center and animal food bank. Our recycling program is better-housed under the programs managed by Recycling Works, as keeping recyclables out of landfills is their mission," said Kyle O'Neill, newly established Executive Director of AniMeals.
Since 2018, Recycling Works has run glass recycling and compost pick-up services in Missoula. They can offer more services to the community by embracing AniMeals' recycling programme.
“Thank you to all Missoulians who are takingpart in the can recycling program. Recycling Works is glad to contribute $100 per month from recyclingproceeds to AniMeals.”Geilen also added, “Please deposit only un-contained Aluminum Cans in the huts – no bags or cardboardcases. Please empty your bags directly into the hut, as we have a loose-cans-collection-system. Thankyou!,” stated Ted Geilen, Executive Director of Recycling Works.
