A Dutch Enterprise, Savage Rivale, has recently revealed their Coastrunner EV, which has been modelled to reinstate the Mini Moke and Meyer Manx models in a brand new all-electric version. The Coastrunner EV flaunts an aluminium space-frame chassis, which supports the car’s structure.
{alcircleadd}As sources claim, this open-air beach buggy has been constructed on an aluminium space-frame chassis with an auxiliary steel roll cage and protection bars. The car has no doors and has a four-person capacity. The top of the car has been created out of fabric and is flexible.
An aluminium space frame is created out of extruded aluminium sections, aluminium sheets, and vacuum die-cast components of various thicknesses and lengths. Extremely upgraded technology is required to fabricate an aluminium body frame that is high in rigidity, lightweight and offers intense usability. These third-generation ASF® are all-aluminium frame structures both lighter and stronger than steel.
The use of aluminium has decreased the car’s weight which is just 800 kg, and the four-wheeler supports a ground clearance of 215mm. Savage Rivale had created the Roadyacht GTS sports car earlier, along with the Mirage 18GT superyacht, and both of them were equally appreciated.
A rear-installed electric motor has been used to run it, producing 50 kW of power and 200 Nm torque. The motor has been attached with two battery packs situated under the vehicle’s floor, having a net capacity of 20kWh.
Various unreleased test results and scrutiny have pointed out that the Coastrunner EV has an estimated range of 200km, with the maximum speed approachable being 120km/h.
Though reviewers are still unsure about the charging speed, it is not a secret that the car can run for 30 minutes at a stretch without being plugged in.
The car's steering wheel has been outsourced from Volkswagen, and other characteristics include an audio system, an analogue gauge and an elegant stripped interior. The inside colour scheme is based on shades of blue and white with wooden elements for added beautification.
The front has an area where a 60L fridge can be easily placed, and the car also has a 250L luggage zone on the hind shelf.
The first 20 Coastrunner EV consignments will have an opening for customisation where people would be able to choose the colour of the body, chassis and soft top. Other options, including surf and wakeboard brackets, would also be available.
Savage Rivale has not yet publicised any price list for the Coastrunner EV, but it is rumoured that only 14 build slots are remaining for 2023.
