Scania CV India, a subsidiary of Scania Group, has launched the new U-BODY tipper truck for the country’s mining sector. The global manufacturer of heavy duty vehicles and engines aims to increase productivity across a wide section of mineral exploration including coal, bauxite, and iron ore with the CV while bringing down the Total Operating Economy, an industry source reported.
The launch of the U-BODY tipper for exploration of coal, iron ore, bauxite, and other minerals is part of Scania India’s vision to build innovative and sustainable transport solutions for the country’s mining sector.
{alcircleadd}Commenting on the new offering Scania’s Director, Business Support for Commercial Vehicles India, Hanna Johansson said, “Besides being a manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses, Scania is increasingly developing new ways of delivering customer value based on a full service offering that delivers life cycle profitability.”
“Our solutions approach will add value to customers and bring down total cost of ownership,” she said.

Scania has been serving the mining and construction sectors since 2007 through its JV partnership with Larsen & Toubro (L&T). In India, the company has two manufacturing facilities for trucks and buses with a total production capacity of 2,500 trucks and 1,000 buses.
Scania’s business vision for India is to become a partner to the Government’s ambition of developing Smart Cities by bringing in sustainable urban mobility solutions.
