In response to the growing demand for a circular economy, Alumex is committed to reducing its carbon emissions in line with global sustainability standards, benefiting Sri Lanka by helping to lower its overall carbon footprint. The roadmap outlines clear future targets, including a 25 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity, to contribute to global climate change efforts while optimising energy use in operations.

The company is focused on decarbonising its aluminium value chain by transitioning to cleaner energy sources, optimising production processes, and promoting resource efficiency through effective recycling practices. The roadmap highlights Alumex's commitment to responsible sourcing, aiming to achieve 50 per cent social and environmental screening of suppliers to ensure sustainable and ethical practices across the supply chain.

The company has set a target to reduce water consumption intensity by 30 per cent, reflecting its dedication to conserving water resources and minimising environmental impact.
