The system is designed to cut aluminium plates as close to the final contour as possible—commonly referred to as near-net-shape or cut-to-size cutting. With over 30 years of expertise in CNC-controlled contour saws, Mössner has developed a solution that significantly reduces the amount of material that needs to be removed during subsequent processing steps.
This approach not only shortens processing time at milling or machining centres but also boosts material efficiency by producing fewer chips and enabling easier reintegration of solid offcuts into the recycling loop. Intelligent cutting strategies further enhance cost-effectiveness by maximising the number of usable parts from a single aluminium panel.
The sawing system features both an automated feed mechanism and an automated scrap removal unit, significantly reducing the need for manual labour. Precision contouring is handled by multiple CNC-controlled servo axes. Cutting contours can be programmed directly into the control system or generated automatically via post-processors, ensuring flexibility and accuracy in production.
The system can be optionally enhanced with additional modules, such as automated labelling units or integrated machining functions like drilling. With a legacy spanning 125 years, Mössner has been a trusted provider of sawing and automation solutions for the aluminium industry.
In aluminium technology, Mössner delivers high-precision sawing and milling systems tailored for both primary and secondary aluminium production. Their equipment supports the processing of a wide range of formats, including rolling ingots, T-bars, blanks, contours, round blanks, samples, ingots, and plates.
