Impol, a manufacturer of wide range of rolled and extruded aluminium products based at Slovenska Bistrica reported a record EUR 666m revenue for 2017 on Monday February 26. This was a 20% increase over 2016 and accompanied by an almost EUR 4m rise in pre-tax profit to EUR 38.9m.
The group's EBITDA amounted to EUR 62m. The production and turnover rise of the largest exporters and industrial companies in Slovenia is primarily driven by the recent expansion to Croatia. TLM, a bankrupt aluminium producer from Šibenik was taken over by Impol which helped preserve almost 400 jobs and expanded its operations in Croatia.
The company is positive about the ongoing road infrastructure upgrade in Slovenska Bistrica which will make operations easier for the company. The company announced it would launch the first of four additional production halls in Slovenska Bistrica in March 2018.
Impol, one of the few Socialist-era industrial majors from eastern Slovenia to have survived, employed 2,200 people at group level in 2016 and their commitment and ability to manufacture customised products has helped it grow consistently in a challenging environment.
