On February 5, today, the SMM aluminium A00 ingot price slumped by RMB 180 per tonne to close at RMB 18,730 per tonne, with the average prices ranging between RMB18,710 per tonne and RMB 18,750 per tonne. If we consider the SMM aluminium price on January 5, there can be witnessed a Month-on-Month decrease of RMB 570 per tonne or 2.95 per cent from RMB 19,300 per tonne.
China’s low-carbon aluminium price has shed RMB 137 per tonne to close at RMB 19,545 per tonne.
China’s eight major provinces
The SMM aluminium market in China has shown dampening price trends, with exceptions only in Chongqing and Tianjin, where the prices grew by RMB 10 per tonne, each to close at RMB 18,910 per tonne and RMB 18,950 per tonne. Other than that, high losses of RMB 140 per tonne and RMB 160 per tonne were experienced in Gongyi and Foshan, respectively, with the prices halting at RMB 18,670 per tonne and RMB 18,770 per tonne. In Wuxi, the aluminium price negated RMB 20 per tonne to close at RMB 18,890 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Hangzhou and Linyi have both tumbled by RMB 10 per tonne, officiating at RMB 18,910 per tonne and RMB 18,880 per tonne.
The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have uniformly discarded RMB 200 per tonne, closing at RMB 26,200 per tonne and RMB 27,200 per tonne.
The Australian Alumina FOB price has dropped US$6 per tonne, to close at US$367 per tonne.
China’s aluminium alloy (A356) price has dived by RMB 200 per tonne, resting at RMB 19,350 per tonne, while the high purity aluminium (99.996%) incurred RMB 150 per tonne loss to close at RMB 19,650 per tonne.
The aluminium powder price in China stopped at RMB 21.10 per tonne, with a decrease of RMB 0.02 per tonne.
