SMM A00 aluminium ingot price tumbles by 3.03% since January 2; Aluminium alloy prices lose RMB100/t

The SMM A00 aluminium ingot price graph has marked declining aluminium prices after recording a high rate of RMB 19,480 per tonne on January 2, at the beginning of the year.

Since then, the aluminium price has been slowly dampening, finally stopping at RMB 18,890 per tonne on January 18, today, with a loss of RMB 590 per tonne or 3.03 per cent from the highest price of 2024, mentioned above.

If we consider the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price on December 18, we can see a Month-on-Month slump of RMB 10 per tonne or 0.05 per cent from RMB 18,900 per tonne registered that day.

Eight Central Provinces in China 

China’s eight main provinces have all measured lowering aluminium prices with only one exception, in Shenyang, where the aluminium price hiked by RMB 30 per tonne to close at RMB 19,050 per tonne. The highest price fall was experienced by Gongyi, where the aluminium price stood at RMB 18,810 per tonne, with a subtraction of RMB 140 per tonne. Other than that, the second-highest plunges were noticed in Wuxi and Chongqing, where the aluminium prices fell by RMB 130 per tonne, settling at RMB 18,890 per tonne and RMB 18,870 per tonne. The aluminium price in Linyi discarded RMB 120 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,940 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Hangzhou and Tianjin both jumped down RMB 110 per tonne to officiate at RMB 18,890 per tonne and RMB 18,940 per tonne, respectively. Lastly, the aluminium price in Foshan negated RMB 100 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,030 per tonne.

Other ancillary material pricing 

The low-carbon aluminium price in China has clocked at RMB 19,779 per tonne, with a drop of RMB 100 per tonne. 

The price of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and the price of high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have both dwindled by RMB 100 per tonne to stop at RMB 26,500 per tonne and RMB 27,500 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloy (A356), aluminium alloy (A360), and aluminium alloys (ADC12) have all uniformly decreased by RMB 100 per tonne to ultimately close at RMB 19,500 per tonne, RMB 19,800 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne, respectively.

China’s aluminium powder price has dropped RMB 0.10 per kg, to park at RMB 21.40 per kg, with the average prices hovering between RMB 21.30 per kg and RMB 21.50 per kg.
