The SMM aluminium market has clocked a growth of RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,770 per tonne as of today (January 2, 2025). The prices have grown in all the regions, with the highest in Gongyi and Shenyang, where it has gained RMB 110 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,770 per tonne and RMB 19,880 per tonne. In Linyi the price has surged by RMB 100 per tonne to reside at RMB 19,920 per tonne.
{alcircleadd}On the same day the prices in Foshan and Wuxi have added RMB 80 per tonne to halt at RMB 20,050 per tonne and RMB 19,770 per tonne. In other regions like Hangzhou, Chongqing and Tianjin, the prices have grown by RMB 70 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,790 per tonne, RMB 19,920 per tonne and RMB 19,840 per tonne.
The domestic price of low carbon aluminium has hiked by RMB 78 per tonne to arrive at RMB 21,064 per tonne, followed by an ascend of RMB 100 per tonne for high purity aluminium (99.99%) and high purity aluminium (99.996%) to halt at RMB 27,000 per tonne and RMB 28,000 per tonne.
However, alumina, a crucial raw material required for aluminium production, has, on the contrary, recorded a decline of RMB 23 per tonne to settle at RMB 5,675 per tonne. The prices have fallen in most provinces with RMB 50 per tonne in Lianyungang and Bayuquan to clock at RMB 5,900 per tonne. In regions like Shanxi and Shandong, the alumina prices have contracted by RMB 45 per tonne and RMB 25 per tonne to settle at RMB 5,650 per tonne and RMB 5,690 per tonne. In Henan and Guangxi, the alumina prices have descended by RMB 20 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to reach RMB 5,630 per tonne and RMB 5,730 per tonne.
The price of aluminium alloys (ADC12), aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A380) have moved up by RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,900 per tonne, RMB 20,350 per tonne and RMB 21,900 per tonne. For (ADC12) the average prices may range between RMB 20,800 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne. For (A356), the average price is expected to stand between RMB 20,200 per tonne and RMB 20,500 per tonne, followed by RMB 21,800 per tonne and RMB 22,000 per tonne for (A380).
