South Korea's imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 19,700 tonnes in March 2021, a decrease of 28.36% from 27,500 tonnes in March 2020, as updated by the US Census Bureau. On a monthly basis, imports declined by 12% from 22,400 tonnes in February 2021.
{alcircleadd}In the first quarter of 2021, South Korea imported 65,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap, from 73,500 tonnes imported in the first quarter of 2020. That was down by 8,500 tonnes or 11.56% year-on-year.
South Korea's imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US were 20,800 tonnes in March 2021. That was down from 29,600 tonnes in March 2020 and 23,500 tonnes in February 2021.
In the first three months of 2021, total imports came in at 68,700 tonnes, from 80,300 tonnes imported in in the first three months of 2020, representing a slip of 14.45% year-on-year.
