Suzuki is all set to hit the market with its newest addition to the series DR-Z4S dual-purpose model and DR-Z4SM supermoto model. The brand gave a sneak peek at the new two-wheelers model at the EICMA, better known as Milan Motorcycle Shows (the trade show is being held from November 7 to November 10, 2024). Suzuki has stood as the immaculate blend of versatility, performance, and modern technology with its DR-Z legacy for over two decades. The DR-Z used for the Australian Army is slightly revised for the Army role.

{alcircleadd}The Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM feature an avant aluminium subframe incorporated in the all-new steel twin-spar framing and a lightweight aluminium swingarm for improved handling arrangement. The new twin-spar steel frame, which includes a lightweight aluminium sub-frame, gives exceptional torsional rigidity with minimal weight. A lightweight aluminium swing arm helps improve tracking and rear suspension response.
Marking the next-gen of Suzuki DualSport and SuperMoto motorcycles, these models are the continuum to the success of the prior renowned DR-Z series, the all-new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM. The series was initially launched in the early 2000s and is, to date, known for both street and off-road performance. The motorcycles are already pulling the eyeballs of many dirt bike riders and supermoto racers.
They also feature a thoroughly revamped 398cc single-cylinder engine, now readied with electronic fuel injection and the latest Suzuki Ride-By-Wire throttle chassis for hassle-free and compact power delivery.
Adding to the tasteful handling of the frame and the aluminium sub-frame are new KYB totally adjustable suspension featuresn both front and rear and renewed performance-compelling, model-specific tyres for solid riding conviction. Finally, the modern motocross-fashioned bodywork, dapper LED lighting, and fresh new colours make the DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM ready to overpower the trail or street like a king.
One major update in the Suzuki DR-Z new models is the new electronics package. A first for the DR-Z, it comprises three switchable rider modes, four-level traction control, and an anti-lock braking system (ABS). ABS can be switched off either on the back wheel or on both wheels. Simply labelled A, B, and C, all three modes provide full power but change the throttle response. For traction control, the rider can select TC1, which permits some wheel spin, or TC2, which entitles almost no spin. There's also a G (gravel) mode, allowing more rear wheel spin for off-road riding or riding on the route. The traction control can also be disabled altogether. The drive modes and traction control are the same on both the models — S and the SM.
The price still a surprise, at this point, as the brand has not disclosed the most awaited piece of data: the ex-showroom and on-road price. The current DR-Z400S starts at US$7,199 — pricier than both larger competitors in the United States, such as the Kawasaki KLR650, and smaller ones, one of which would be the Honda CRF300L. There is a doubt whether the price of the newest models will be downwards than their ancestors.
