Sweden’s exports of aluminium scrap increased in 2017. The country exported 142 thousand tonnes of this particular product to the global market. Sweden is estimated to witness a decrease in exports of aluminium scraps last year. The top destinations of Sweden aluminium scrap exports in 2017 were Germany (47085 tonnes), China (19972 tonnes), France (13552 tonnes), Norway (11309 tonnes) and Finland (9432 tonnes).
The value of aluminium scrap export has risen year-on-year. The country total aluminium scraps export was valued at US$124 million in 2016, which increased to reach US$174 million in 2017. The value of export is estimated to increase to US$408 million in 2018.
Data shows the total aluminium scrap export by Sweden stood at about 110 thousand tonnes in 2016. The amount increased about 29 per cent year-on-year to about 142 thousand tonnes in 2017. For the full year 2018, the total aluminium scrap export by the country is estimated to stand at about 130 thousand tonnes, a decrease of 8 per cent year on year.
