Swisstek Aluminium is among the top ten best-managed Sri Lankan companies as awarded by CPM

In a list put together by the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPM), for the period 2020-2021, Swisstek Aluminium Limited has ranked among the top 10 best-managed companies in the country.

Under the motif of ‘Back to Business in the New Normal’, CPM’s Best Management Practices Awards has felicitated Swisstek Aluminium as a winner of the ‘Top 10’ awards for the implementation of the most exemplary management practices in the country.

To fetch data from industries countrywide, CPM called for Sri Lankan firms to submit applications with buoyant management practices taken to survive in the especially tough, Covid-stricken year 2020 and 2021.To manifest the precautionary measurements taken by respective organisations during the outbreak, the participants were asked to present before the jury panel the best practices they ruled to mitigate the pandemic.

Swisstek Aluminium highlighted the management practices implemented in the fields of IT, finance, marketing, engineering, and HR.

One of the key features that made them win was the implementation of their brightest employees to directly manage projects under the hawk-eye supervision of the immediate superior or management.

Plus, most of the operations were reorganised, allowing the business to prosper with a minimum working force in order to keep the employees safe and maintain the Covid decorum.

In addition, Swisstek Aluminium was very considerate when it came to their employees’ wellbeing, providing them with healthcare administrators who took the liberty to explain and warn them about the contagious virus. ‘Gate-to-gate care protocol’ was maintained to prevent any employee from getting exposed to the disease. The company also provided care packages to any quarantined employee and his family, also expanding to nearby villages.

Unique measures like development of its own disinfection chamber and shipping them to other countries had also been undertaken by Swisstek Aluminium.

The above management tactics raised the bar for other participants as Swisstek Aluminium surpassed production yields of international firms, generated cost considerable savings and ensured the safety of stakeholders across the board, thus placing the company among the top ten best-managed firms in the nation.
