On Friday, November 15, 2024, China's Ministry of Finance unveiled changes to the export tax rebate policy, significantly affecting industries such as aluminium manufacturing and export. In response, Syharvest Aluminum, a leading name in the aluminium extrusion sector, has implemented strategic measures to navigate both the immediate impacts and the long-term challenges arising from this policy shift.

About the policy
Effective December 1, 2024, the policy adjustments will eliminate export tax rebates for aluminium products and reduce the rebate rate for certain refined oil, photovoltaic components, batteries, and non-metallic minerals from 13 per cent to 9 per cent. Syharvest Aluminum has developed a robust adaptation strategy in response to this shifting policy landscape.
In the short term, the company has capitalised on the 14-day window between the announcement and the policy's implementation by expediting shipments for export clients. Operating round the clock and leveraging advanced digital systems introduced in 2023, Syharvest Aluminum has boosted its production capacity from 50 tonnes to an impressive 130 tonnes per day.
Eddie Tan, CEO of Syharvest Aluminum, said, "Policy changes bring challenges, but they also create opportunities. With leading digital transformation initiatives and expertise in precision manufacturing, Syharvest is well-positioned to deliver superior products and services to a global clientele while contributing to the green transformation of the industry."
Syharvest CNC Processing in 2023
To ensure long-term adaptability, Syharvest Aluminum has outlined several strategic priorities. Since 2023, the company has collaborated with Schneider Electric on an extensive digital transformation initiative, investing over 30 million RMB in cutting-edge information management systems and smart production lines. This effort has significantly enhanced production efficiency and management transparency, strengthening the company's resilience and competitiveness amidst evolving policy dynamics.
The launch of Syharvest CNC Processing in 2023 marks a pivotal step in Syharvest Aluminum's growth trajectory. This subsidiary is focused on optimising the company's order structure by shifting from construction aluminium profiles to industrial-grade aluminium and precision-engineered products.
The expanded portfolio now includes aluminium heatsinks, equipment housings, industrial lighting profiles, automation components, solar frame profiles, medical device aluminium parts, automotive components, and high-end electronics. Syharvest Aluminum offers comprehensive, end-to-end solutions, encompassing extrusion, precision machining, and custom design services.
Syharvest's commitment to customer satisfaction
Syharvest Aluminum remains committed to customer satisfaction by using the recent policy changes as an opportunity to emphasise high-value-added orders. The company works closely with clients across Europe, North America, Africa, Australia, and Southeast Asia, delivering customised solutions designed to meet the specific needs of each market. Furthermore, Syharvest Aluminum plans to enhance its global presence by participating in international trade fairs and industry events to strengthen its brand and expand its market share.
Syharvest Aluminum places sustainability at the forefront of its operations, integrating energy-efficient technologies to lower energy consumption and carbon emissions. In 2022, the company installed a 2 MW rooftop photovoltaic system, reducing CO2 emissions by 2,200 tonnes and solidifying its reputation as a leader in green manufacturing.
With its strategic initiatives, Syharvest Aluminum is confident in its ability to offset the impact of policy changes while seizing opportunities for growth and innovation. By aligning its operations with global market demands, the company reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality products and services to customers worldwide.
