The US imports of crude metal and alloys stood at 294,000 tonnes in June 2021, a growth of 12.21% year-on-year from 262,000 tonnes in June 2020, , according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from the US Geological Survey. Imports slashed by 6.07% from May 2021’s imports of 313,000 tonnes.
{alcircleadd}The US imported 1.73 million tonnes of crude metal and alloys in the first six months of 2021, as compared to 1.83 million tonnes in the first six months of 2020, which indicates a decrease of 5.46% year-on-year.
On the export side, the US exported 18,300 tonnes of crude metal and alloys in June 2021. That marked an increase of 15.09% from June 2020’s exports of 15,900 tonnes and 13.66% from May 2021’s exports of 16,100 tonnes.
In the first half of 2021, crude metal and alloys exports came in at 103,000 tonnes, a hike of 13.44% year-on-year. The US had exported 90,800 tonnes in the first half of 2020.
