Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the Apple Vision Pro, the company's long-awaited augmented-reality headset, at its annual software development conference WWDC 2023, on Monday. Apple has taken its first significant step with Vision Pro since the debut of the Apple Watch nine years ago.
A single piece of three-dimensionally created laminated glass serves as an optical surface for the cameras and sensors that monitor the environment. It elegantly transitions into a bespoke aluminium alloy frame that softly bends to wrap around the users face and serves as an attachment point for the Light Seal. The Vision Pro headset is circular with an aluminium frame and has a glass screen in front.
"Vision Pro is a new kind of computer that augments reality by seamlessly blending the real world with the digital world. You can see, hear and interact with digital content, just like it's in your physical space. With Vision Pro, you're no longer limited by a display; your surroundings become an infinite canvas," said Apple CEO Tim Cook at the 2023 WWDC.
Users may switch between AR (visual components overlaid on the actual environment) and VR (a wholly virtual space) while wearing the headset by using a tiny toggle mechanism on top of the headset. Apple Vision Pro is the culmination of decades of expertise in creating high-performance, mobile, and wearable technologies, culminating in Apple's most ambitious product yet. Vision Pro incorporates modern technology into an attractive, small shape, giving in an incredible experience each time you put it on.
