Top five aluminium scrap suppliers in Germany

Recycling can be used as a way to tackle the environmental impact of waste, which is one of the main concerns today. The automotive industry is the biggest sources from where aluminium scrap is generated. The companies have been developing new technologies to increase the recycling rate for years.

Germany, the major aluminium market in Europe, is also one of the leading aluminium scrap suppliers in the world. The country contributes 25 per cent of total aluminium consumption in Europe. Germany produces about 300,000 tonnes of recycled aluminium

Following are the top five aluminium scrap suppliers in Germany. Please note the list below is dynamic and are not put in priority order.

TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG

TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG, based in Germany, is one of the leading scrap metal recycling companies in Europe.  The company handles all types of materials– from iron and steel, to aluminium, to zinc. It recycles about 0.5 million tonnes of non-ferrous metals per year. TSR engages in collection and processing of such material, trading activities and material flow management as well as demolition and industrial services.

Stockach Aluminium GmbH

Stockach Aluminium GmbH operates a smelting plant that recycles aluminium scrap by means of conventional production processes. The company produce cast and wrought alloys from secondary aluminium.  BAGR Berliner Aluminiumwerk GmbH in Germany, a group company of Metalcorp Group in Amsterdam, acquired 50 per cent of the shares of Stockach Aluminium GmbH in March this year.

WMR Recycling

WMR Recycling GmbH is headquartered in Dormagen, Germany. German aluminium recycler has the most advanced aluminium scrap sorting technology in the WMR plant. WMR is a fully-owned subsidiary of Hydro, legally named Hydro Aluminium Recycling Deutschland GmbH.

Inter Metals GmbH

Inter Metals GmbH is headquartered in Ochtrup, Germany. The company trades non-ferrous products. It collects and sells aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, and lead scraps. Inter Metals sells 70,000 tonnes of non-ferrous materials annually of which 25 per cent in South and East Asia.

ATC Metals

ATC Metals is ferrous & non-ferrous metals scrap trading company in Germany.  The company supplies various qualities of non-ferrous scrap.  The traded qualities are copper cables, brass scrap and various aluminium grades like zorba, taint tabor and tense (as per ISRI specifications).
