However, the usage is forecast to increase marginally in 2023 to reach 21.8 million tonnes.
Aluminium casting accounts for a sizable portion of the global metal casting industry, which is expected to expand significantly in the coming years. This market includes a wide range of aluminium casting products, including sand casting, die casting, investment casting, and others.
The transportation sector is the major end-user of aluminium castings, accounting for about 78 per cent of the total usage. The sector also is one of the major end-users of recycled aluminium. The demand for castings is expected to increase with an increase in automobile production.
In terms of production and consumption, China, along with other nations in the Asia-Pacific region, lead the market, followed by Europe and the USA.
