Information & eGovernment Authority reported that in July 2022, Bahrain's exports of goods and services of domestic production surged by 29 per cent to BD421 million ($1.17 billion) from BD327 million recorded same month a year ago.
{alcircleadd}Unwrought aluminium alloy, worth BD162 million, was the most exported commodity in July 2022, followed by unalloyed aluminium wire, worth BD18 million, and agglomerated iron ores and concentrates, worth BD89 million.
In July 2022, the value of imports climbed by 12 per cent to BD468 million from BD418 million in the same month the year before. 68 per cent of the value of imports came from the top 10 nations, while 32 per cent came from the other nations. Brazilian imports to Bahrain were BD71 million; China came in second with BD67 million; and the UAE followed in third with BD40 million, according to the study.
With a total import value of BD88 million, non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates took the top spot, followed by gold ingots ($15 million) and aluminium oxide ($22 million). Aeroplane engine parts stood as one of the top re-exported goods in Bahrain, closing at BD15 million. Four-wheel drive automobiles came in third with BD2 million, followed by other mountings, fittings, and similar items for vehicles with BD3 million.
The trade balance, which measures the difference between exports and imports, was (BD2 million), reflecting a surplus in the trade balance's value in July 2022 as opposed to the same month the year prior, which came to (BD1 million) (BD31 million).
The top 10 nations in exports of national origin bought from Bahrain made up 79 per cent of the total value, while the other nations made up 21per cent. With BD87 million in imports from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia was the top destination for national origin exports from Bahrain. With BD74 million, the US finished second, and BD53 million, the UAE third.
