Tensions escalated on Thursday during a public hearing for the proposed Balada bauxite mining project in Nandapur block, as local villagers voiced strong opposition. Organised by the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) under Ministry of Forest and Environment guidelines, the meeting sought community feedback on the project’s environmental impact.
