According to the latest data reported by the US Geological Survey, the United States’ aluminium crude metals and alloys imports from Argentina in the first quarter of 2022 (1Q2022) closed at 45,600 tonnes. However, on a Y-o-Y calculation, a surge of 282,200 tonnes or 162.06 per cent was recorded in 1Q2022. The amount for 1Q2021 closed at 17,400 tonnes. On a Q-o-Q calculation, a hike of 20,690 tonnes or 83.05 per cent was recorded in 1Q2022 from 24,910 tonnes in 4Q2022.
{alcircleadd}The United States imported 23,300 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys from Argentina in March 2022, which reflected M-o-M growth of 13,560 tonnes from 9,740 tonnes in February. On the other hand, in February, a drop of 2,760 tonnes or 22.08 per cent was recorded from 12,500 tonnes in January. In March 2022, the United States imported 23,300 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys from Argentina, which on a Y-o-Y basis recorded a growth of 15,190 tonnes or 187.89 per cent from 8,110 tonnes in March 2021.
The United States imported a total of 341,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys in March 2022, which surged by 79,000 tonnes or 30.15 per cent from 262,000 tonnes in February. For the same year, a dropdown of 81,000 tonnes was recorded in February, from 343,000 tonnes in January.
