US aluminium scrap exports to Malaysia record a 14% hike Q-o-Q to 143,700 tonnes in 3Q2021

According to the US Census data, the United States aluminium scrap exports to Malaysia stood at 41,200 tonnes in September 2021, bringing the total exports in Q3 to 143,700 tonnes.

On a month-on-month basis, the United States aluminium scrap exports to Malaysia in September 2021 edged 27.59 per cent fall than 56,900 tonnes. However, on a year-on-year calculation, the exports registered a hike of 9.57 per cent from 37,600 tonnes.

Aluminium scrap exports in Q3 from the US to Malaysia saw an increase of 14.14 per cent quarter-on-quarter from 125,900 tonnes. On a year-on-year basis, the quarterly exports stood 12.44 per cent higher than 127,800 tonnes, showed the Census Bureau data.

From January to September, the United States exported 380,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap in total, up by 29.69 per cent from 293,000 tonnes a year ago.

World Recycled Aluminium Market Analysis

The United States total aluminium scrap exports in September stood at 171,000 tonnes, down by 9.04 per cent month-on-month from 188,000 tonnes. On a yearly basis, the exports grew 8.22 per cent from 158,000 tonnes.
