US aluminium scrap exports to Mexico in 1Q2022 plunge by 53.65% to 20,900 tonnes

In 1Q2022, the United States exported 20,900 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Mexico, which reflected a downfall of 24,200 tonnes or 53.65 per cent Y-o-Y from 45,100 tonnes in 1Q2022. In 4Q2022, the amount of aluminium scrap exported by the United States to Mexico closed at 40,000 tonnes, which on a Q-o-Q calculation recorded a decline of 19,100 tonnes or 47.75 per cent in 1Q2022.

According to the USGS data, the amount of aluminium scrap exported to Mexico by the United States in March 2022 closed at 8,460 tonnes, which hiked by 17.01 per cent or 1,230 tonnes M-o-M from 7,230 tonnes in February 2022. In February 2022, a surge of 2,020 tonnes or 38.77 per cent was recorded from 5,210 tonnes in January 2022. On a Y-o-Y calculation, the amount had nosedived by 9,140 tonnes or 51.93 per cent in March 2022, from 17,600 tonnes in March 2021.

The total amount of aluminium scrap exported by the United States in March settled at 37,900 tonnes, which M-o-M heightened by 3,200 tonnes from 34,700 tonnes in February 2022. In February also, a surge of 2,400 tonnes was recorded from 32,300 tonnes in January 2022.
