In collaboration with the Directorate of Factories and Boilers, Government of Odisha, Vedanta Aluminium held an impactful industrial safety training programme at its Jharsuguda operations. The programme was part of a series of training initiatives across various industries organised by the Department of Labour and ESI, Government of Odisha, aimed at enhancing safety awareness among industry professionals.
The event organised by Vedanta was attended by over 450 participants from several industries and companies in Western Odisha. R S Gopalan, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of Labour and ESI, also joined the programme but virtually. Niranjan Jena, Deputy Secretary (Nodal Officer), Department of Labour and ESI; Swaroop Jena, Deputy Director, Directorate of Factories and Boilers– Sambalpur Zone; Manoj Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director, Directorate of Factories and Boilers– Jharsuguda Zone; and Ajay Pandey, Chief Operating Officer (COO)-Power, Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda, also graced the event.
A wide range of topics were discussed at the training programme, like process safety, behaviour-based safety, visible felt leadership, safety from fire and explosion, and risk-based thinking.
