Vedanta grandly launches the 1st edition of the ‘International Aluminium Conference 2023’ in Odisha

India’s largest aluminium producer and one of the world’s leading aluminium producers, the ‘Metal of the Future’, Vedanta Aluminum, grandly launched the 1st edition of the International Aluminium Conference 2023’ (IAC 2023) at its operational location in Jharsuguda, Odisha. In collaboration with the Aluminium Association of India (AAI), the apex body representing the entire spectrum of the Indian Aluminium Industry, this 2-day Conference is being held on the 9th and 10th of February 2023, on the theme: Making India the Aluminium Capital of the World.

IAC 2023 aims to be one of the world’s leading B2B platforms for collaboration between players in the global Aluminium industry and its various stakeholders, such as downstream processors, end consumers and technology suppliers from across the value chain. It will create avenues for exchanging ideas and best practices of producers, innovations and latest developments in the field of aluminium, thoughts and progress on fostering a circular economy in the industry, and opportunities to make the industry more sustainable.

The conference began by featuring technical presentations from various international and national participants, including primary metal producers, equipment suppliers, product development teams, research centres, and prominent international experts.

On February 09, 2023, the launch of the IAC 2023 event was witnessed by Mr Sunil Gupta, CEO of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, Mr Abhijit Pati, the CEO and Director of Balco, Mr M.P. Mishra, Director, Projects and Technology, Nalco, Mr G.G. Pal, Deputy CEO, Vedanta Alumina, Dr Anupam Agnihotri, Director at JNARDDC, Mr Vivek Saxena, Head, Centre of Excellence, Vedanta Ltd, Jharsuguda. The IAC 2023 welcomed several international delegates associated with the global aluminium value chain who wants to be a part of this success story.

However, this also needs to be added that IAC 2023 drove the industry leaders to come together to deliberate the road ahead for the global aluminium industry at the following panel sessions:

  • Opportunities in Indian Aluminium Industry to attract international investments in manufacturing
  • Aluminium alloys and their emerging applications in sunrise sectors
  • Decarbonising the Aluminium industry and the potential of green aluminium
  • New product development and emerging applications of aluminium
  • Promoting sustainability in the aluminium industry
