Vedanta Aluminium has reportedly brought a new range of advanced wire rods to expand premium offerings for the global power and transmission sector. The new range of wire rods includes T4, AL59, and the 8xxx series, launched on the inaugural day of the Cable & Wire Fair 2023 (CWF2023) in New Delhi.
Manufactured by state-of-the-art continuous casting technology, Vedanta’s new range of wire rods are fit for the applications in automotive, building, infrastructure, and electronics.
The T4 alloy rod is perfect for the use in high-voltage transmission grids and in the manufacture of optical fibre composite overhead wires, offering the benefits of low-sag high strength and enhanced durability. The AL59 alloy rod boasts a higher strength-to-weight ratio, superior power evacuation, and a significantly higher current carrying capacity, which is why it is the perfect choice for producing long-lasting cables and conductors.
On the other hand, the 8xxx series has incredible anti-corrosion properties, perfect for the use in the construction, transportation, and architectural sectors.

Early this year, Vedanta Aluminium launched a 12mm aluminium wire rod at its first in-house International Aluminium Conference (IAC) 2023. Manufactured at the smelters in Jharsuguda (Odhisha) and BALCO (Chhattisgarh), using the Properzi casting technology, the product is suitable for electrical applications in transformers, automobiles, and more.
Vedanta Aluminium also offers a wide range of high-quality Electrical Conductor (EC)-grade wire rods in various sizes -7.6mm, 9.5mm, 12mm, and 15mm, alloy wire rods and flip coils, produced using some of the world’s best technologies provided by Continuus-Properzi (Italy) and Southwire (USA).
Restora (India’s first low-carbon, green aluminium) is another premium product of Vedanta Aluminium, in addition to billets, primary foundry alloy, slabs, ingots, rolled products, hot/liquid metal, and so on.
